Municipal Plan
A Municipal Plan sets out the future land use for a municipality taking into consideration the quality of life for the residents, such as economic development, infrastructure development, and environmental values. The Future Land Use Plan shows land designated for these future uses. The most recent Municipal Plan for the Town of Irishtown-Summerside was developed in 2020 through the process set out by the Department of Municipal Affairs, and was adopted in 2021. This plan is in effect from 2020-2030, at which time the plan will be updated.
Habitat Conservation plan
The town of Irishtown-Summerside partnered with SAM ( Stewardship Association of Municipalities) to make a conservation land plan. The 36 hectares along Hughes Brook is a wetland, and home to dozens of wildlife. By preserving this natural habitat, we contribute to the overall well-being of our environment. In the near future we will be constructing trails to connect residents with this nature, allowing for a deeper appreciation and understanding of its surroundings.
